Stage 2

Students in Stage 2 (Year 3 and Year 4) are familiar with the functions of the school library and use its facilities for research and enjoyment. They are able to find and reserve books and resources through the library's catalogue called Orbit. Their developing information literacy skills mean they can more readily find credible information sources for their research projects, and are beginning to paraphrase and reference their sources.

In Term 1, 2020, students in Stage 2 will continue expanding their information literacy skills, then put them into action with a Pathfinder project. A Pathfinder is a website built specifically for our students that provides them with various web-based tasks that support, extend and test their information literacy skills. Students explore the Pathfinder for tasks they would like to perform and that best match their ability level. Students are able to work through Pathfinder tasks at their own pace while being supported as their knowledge and skills improve.
